The game of the day in UEFA Champions League Tuesday sees Man City host last years runners up Juventus. This season has started in polar opposites for these two sides. Man City have won every single match this season without conceding! Sitting top of the England Premiership with 15 points and 11 scored without reply. They go into this one without striker Sergio Aguero which will be a blow but City can replace him. They may lose a bit as he is superb but not noticeably. Nasri and Fernandinho should be available while Silva and Sterling will likely return to the side having sat out the 1-0 at Palace. Kelechi Iheanacho is ineligible and midfielder Fabian Delph and full-backs Gael Clichy and Pablo Zabaleta are still out. Juventus have yet to win in Serie A with 1 draw and 2 losses. Losses to Roma away is maybe ok but defeats to Udinese at home and a 1-1 draw with Chievo with a late penalty to grab a point is hardly preparation for UCL.
I take City to carry on doing what they do best. That is “win to nil”. Five games and five wins with 11 scored and 0 conceded. Juventus have looked very ordinary indeed in opening games and I don’t believe they have the ability to stop the Man City juggernaut.
