Al Ahly – No league this season after Port Said tragedy.

Sanfrecce Hiroshima are the host nation so will have the majority of the crowd on their side. Sanfrecce are playing for the 1st time in any continental finals after winning their maiden title last week in J- League. The team from Hiroshima are renowned in Japan for their amazing production line of talent. Indeed the vast majority of the squad have been promoted from the youth setup. With only three foreign players within the squad this really is a Japanese success story. The team plays exciting attacking football,  with the superb Hisato Sato regularly ending the moves with his clinical finishing. The Japanese international has been sensational, scoring 26 goals in 39 games this season. Other players to watch out for are the veteran Morisaki twins. Both are products of the youth setup and SanFre legends. In the opening match they totally dominated Auckland but that was to be expected. They rained down shots on the OFC Champions and really should have won by more than 1 goal. A combination of poor finishing, the woodwork and a superb goalkeeping performance from Tamati Williams kept it down to just one goal. A credit to him that he walked away with the man of the match for his outstanding game.

Al Ahly are almost FIFA World Club Cup regulars, with 3 appearances and a creditable 3rd place finish in 2008. The club from Egypt have had a really tough year after the game in Port Said where over 70 fans died after crowd trouble. The Egyptian league was cancelled and Al Ahly found the majority of its team ready to disband and move abroad. After a decision to carry on in continental competition in the name of the fans. They had a real determination to succeed and they powered their way to the title. That was their 7th CAF Champions League win and is a record for Africa. Al Ahly are a very fast and physical team, they have a great spirit and are playing with massive heart. Big players for the team are international captain Mohamed Aboutreika, strikers Geddo and Emad Moteab.

3.25 The Draw (Betsson) is the selection in this game. This is an extremely tight game, very difficult to call with plenty of imponderables. Hiroshima have only just played and ended up having a full on 90 minutes as they could not kill off a plucky Auckland.  Al Ahly come into the game as one of the freshest sides in the tournament as their season was cut short due to a the stadium disaster. This could go against them however as the only competive games they have had were the CAF Champions League matches. I think they are playing for the fans though and they are a team possessed for sure. I think the sheer importance of the match will have the game drawn. Both sides are good sides but there is too much at stake here and a draw is very likely.

Al Ahly is the selection here at 2.40 0 handicap (Interwetten) With the draw being such a big runner in this game we can only go with the Egyptians on the Draw No Bet market. Al Ahly are such an adept side they will be able to kill of this game and squeeze the life out of Hiroshima. The Japanese side start off as big favourites here but they were a bit shakey at the back against the New Zealand part timers and may have big problems against the Egyptian giants.

Under 2.50 goals is the selection at 1.62 (StanJames). These World Club matches are such high stakes games that the unders is always a great bet. Nobody wants to take chances and both sides will be aiming for minimum risk. Its a very close game anyway and a low scoring draw looks very likely to me.I am taking the unders which is moving down already so suggest an early bet before the value goes.
