It's tinker time in the Confederations Cup when Brazil takes on Italy. Both sides have won their two previous game. Brazil has done so to nil, and in style. Italy has been handed a lot more points than they deserve. Both Mexico and Japan could easily have gotten something out of the games against Italy. It is expected both sides will change quite a lot around on the starting eleven for this game. The last remaining bit of motivation might be to NOT have to meet Spain in the next round. In order to do that Italy has to win. Brazil will manage with a draw.

Italy will definitely miss De Rossi (suspended) and Pirlo (injured) in midfield. Aquilani and Marchisio are both possible and very capable replacements.

Looking at the squad I'd say Italy has good options defensively and across midfield. However up front it is a bit thin. Brazil has much better cover in pretty much all positions. I dare say the more the sides tinker, the better Brazil's chances are. Especially in Brazil in front of their own fans. Players such as Dante who had a marvellous season in the heart of Bayern Munich's defense might be given a rare start. Jo who scored against Mexico deserves a start as well. It's quite likely PSG's Lucas will be given the nod from the boss too.

Betsson offers 1.65 (13/20) for Brazil here. I think that is worth a punt. Having seen Italy let in three against Japan and one against Mexico I am fairly sure Brazil will bang in at least two goals here. Even if Italy will field their best side, the creative and offensive loss of both Pirlo and De Rossi will be hard to cope with even with decent replacement. Should things not go Brazil's way initially they'll be quick to send in the heavy hitters too. So yes; I like these odds a lot!
