Copa Libertadores action returns tonight with another cracking match up.  Gaurani of Asuncion, Paraguay host a team from Ecuador. The home side are Libertadores veterans with 10 league titles to their name. They qualified as they were the best aggregate side from the combined Apertura and Clausera of 2015.  They have not had a great opening to 2016 as they are yet to win in 3 league matches after 1 draw and 2 losses.  Independiente del Valle are not a usual name you see in Copa Libertadores. They are one of the smaller sides in the country and have only ever played  in 2 seasons of Cop Lib. Overall they have 9 games in the competition with 4 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats. Outside Ecuador they have played 4 games with 1 win and three defeats.  Not scoring in all three losses. They have played 1 league game so far this season which they have won 1-0. That scoreline was the result of the 1^st leg fixture in Estadio General Rumiñahui del Valle de Los Chillos. The ground is at high altitude so the home side had a definite advantage against the sea level of Gaurani.

I don’t expect many goals here at all.  The line is set very low as you would expect in this important knock out match.  I think the home side have the quality to get the win but this could go the full distance. I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 1-0 as that would set it straight to penalties as no extra time is played here.
