Not many observers would have thought Wales would qualify and virtually none gave Northern Ireland a chance either. However they both done themselves proud with Wales winning their group. Although they lost 2-1 to England in a game that was pretty much 50/50 they did beat Slovakia and Russia and both with ease it has to be said. Gareth Bale is their key component for sure but in Aaron Ramsey and Joe Allen they have some gamebreakers and the rest of the team has a cracking spirit and no shortage of talent. Joe Ledley had a slight injury doubt but should be ok here. Northern Ireland had a bit of a tense wait to see if they made a best third place position and they did in the end. They beat Ukraine 2-0 in a strong showing that was enough to drag them through. They lost to Poland and Germany 1-0 but goal difference was crucial as they kept the scores down in both matches. No selection worries for the North of Ireland.

Wales have the better quality in almost all areas and can match the Irish for enthusiasm. If you look down the Irish side they have few real creative players and honest endeavour will be the key for them. A real bonus for both sides is the fact the game will be refereed by and Englishman so expect some feisty challenges throughout the match. I expect Wales to win here and continue with the fairytale.
