ABERDEEN V GRONINGEN : PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS

Aberdeen easily beat Latvian side Daugava 8-0 in the opening qualifying round, but can expect a much stiffer test here against a very useful Dutch side. A third place finish in the Scottish Premiership last season set up their return to the European fold after a five year exile. Past European cup winners cup winners in the 1980s when the great Sir Alex Ferguson was manager, the Pittodrie outfit have suffered some tough years, but last season brought a glimmer that better times are again ahead. Groningen finished the Dutch season in explosive form, winning nine of their last ten matches which ultimately booked their spot in Europa via the end of season play-offs. This is their first time in Europe since 2007 and if they can keep the momentum from the end of last season going then they have the potential to reach the group stages of the competition at the very least.
