Augsburg v Partizan Belgrade today in Europa League and I am fancying an upset. Augsburg are in their debut season on the international stage. They were straight into the group stages so have no experience at all. In Bundesliga they are showing badly as they sit in 16th with just 4 points from 7 games. They opened up with a heavy 3-1 loss to Athletic Bilbao. Partizan Belgrade have experience in buckets but they are playing in a league that is nowhere near the competitiveness of the Bundesliga. This season alone they have already played 6 matches in the Champions League. They have won 4, drew 1 and lost 1. Beating the likes of Steaua Bucherest and BATE Borisov. Indeed Borisov are just off the back of beating Roma so good form there. They opened the group with a 3-2 win over AZ Alkmaar. In Serbia Partizan are 3rd with 20 points from 11 games. However this placing is false as already this season they have rested a lot of players before Champions League games.
I have watched Partizan a few times this season already and they have performed well on both occasions. They have the ability to surprise the Germans for sure.
