Lyon has made an excellent start to Ligue 1, winning 4 of their 5 matches and drawing the other.  They have scored 11 goals and conceded just 4.  They will be keen to get back to the top of the table after a very disappointing 4^th place finish last year.

Sparta has also started well in their domestic league winning 5 of their last 6 matches.  Their most recent game was an away loss to league leaders Viktoria Plzen which ended their undefeated start to the season.
