JUVENTUS V BENFICA: PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIP To Qualify
The 2-1first leg victory for Benfica has left the tie very much in the balance ahead of the second leg in Turin. A thoroughly enjoyable game to watch it saw the contrasting styles of Benfica’s strong counter attacking play, against the more patient, methodical approach of Juventus searching for the killer pass. Benfica led very early on, and Juventus impressed in the way they pretty much controlled the play afterwards, before a deserved Tevez equaliser. Benfica continued to try to break quickly though, and a fine goal from sub Rodrigo in the eighty fifth minute means they have a lead to hold onto for this second leg encounter.
Juventus have not lost at home all season with a perfect (17-0-0) league record, and also no home losses in either Champions League(1-2-0) or Europa (2-1-0), so will be confident of pulling back the first leg deficit. With the final of the competition taking place here in Turin also, it is a massive incentive for Juventus to be there. With just a point needed to retain the Serie A title, a first European trophy since 1996 would cap an excellent season for the Old Lady. Pepe(mid) is out and Vidal(mid) is doubtful for the game.
Benfica kept hopes alive of lifting four trophies this season with a weekend penalty shoot out win over Porto in the domestic league cup. It puts them into the finals of both domestic cup competitions, and the league is already secured. They would love to go one better than last years final loss to Chelsea in this competition, and have given themselves every chance after the first leg win, though can expect a very tough night in Turin. Silvio(def), Fejsa, Gaitan(mid) and Salvio(str) will be out injured.
Juventus to qualify at 1.73(8/11)WilliamHill looks a sound investment. With a 2-1 deficit to overturn there is work to be done for the Old Lady, but they have made their new Turin home a real fortress and can turn this tie around to set up a final spot. In a pulsating first leg Benfica managed to score with their only two attempts on target, and expect their chances to be limited here. There is no need for panic for Juventus either, as the away goal scored in Lisbon means a 1-0 win here would see them through. Expect a more impressive winning margin in all honesty, but whatever way you look at it, Juventus at 1.73 to qualify for the final is a tremendous bet, and one guarantee is that this price wont last.
