Lille are currently the best of the rest in France Ligue 1 behind PSG and Monaco. Its possible they may take over Monaco this year as the principality have been hit by a drop in expenditure by their Russian oligarch. Lille are top of Ligue 1 after 3 wins and 2 draws and yet again their entire game is built on a solid backline.  Just 1 goal conceded in 5 league games. Like last season when they went on a long run of winning to nil and were in the hunt for 2^nd at one time.  Lille had the misfortune to come up against Porto in Champions League and were beaten over 2 legs. Krasnodar are one of the 2^nd tier of Russian clubs. The Russians are another who did well a few years back in Europa League but haven’t really done much over the recent years.   A mixed start too for Krasnodar who have won 3, drew 2 and lost 2. – Losing the last 2 matches without scoring at home to Dinamo and surprisingly Ufa. They did beat Real Sociedad 3-1 in the playoff game for this competition and that’s a decent result. They lost the away  leg though and its worth taking them on away from home in this competition.

Russian teams away from home don’t fill me with confidence at all. I take Lille to beat them, and wouldn’t be surprised if Everton and Wolfsburg did it too.
