STEAUA BUCHAREST V CHELSEA PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Steaua look to continue their excellent domestic form and cause another Europa League upset against last year’s Champions League winners Chelsea.

Steaua are top of the Romanian Liga I with 53 points from 21 matches which gives them a 12 point advantage over the chasing pack.  They have played twice since the winter break, winning 1-0 and 3-0.  Their biggest win of the season came in the last round of the Europa League however when they took on a much fancied Ajax side and after a 2-0 away loss in the first leg, not many gave them any chance.  An excellent 2-0 win saw the game level and then a nail-biting penalty shootout win gave the Romanians a place in the last 16.

Chelsea are currently 4^th in the EPL with 52 points from 28 matches which leaves them 5 points ahead of chasing Arsenal in the final Champions League spot.  They will want to overtake Tottenham who are just 2 points ahead and regain 3^rd place but the most important thing is the top 4 finish.
