TOTTENHAM V LYON PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Arguably the most anticipated tie of the round sees one of England’s top sides take on France’s most successful side over the past 10 years.  Both teams are having strong seasons and would expect to be in the Champions League next year so we should enjoy seeing them at this stage in the Europa league.

Tottenham are 4^th in the Premiership with 48 points from 26 matches which leaves them just 1 point behind 3^rd place Chelsea and 4 points ahead of 5^th placed Arsenal.  They finished 2^nd in their group to reach this stage, finishing with 10 points from 6 matches which left them 2 points behind leaders Lazio.

Lyon are 2^nd in Ligue 1 with 45 points from 24 matches which has them 6 points behind PSG in the race for the title.  Lyon have lost their last 2 league matches which has put a real dent in their challenge but they will be hoping to bounce back here to take some confidence into a very important weekend match at Bordeaux.
