UDINESE V YOUNG BOYS PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Udinese are having a tough time in Serie A this year and are currently in 10^th position with 14 points from 11 matches. They have won only 3 matches, drawing 5 and losing 3. Their recent form is more impressive, they are unbeaten in 4 matches, winning 2 of those. 3 of their last 5 league matches have had over 2.5 goals. In the Europa League Udinese has 4 points from 3 matches and are 3^rd in the group. They will need to take at least 4 points from their 3 remaining games to get through the group.

Young Boys are a distant 5^th in the Swiss Super League. They have 17 points from 14 matches but are a huge 10 points off 4^th place Basel and look to be out the running for title challenge. In the Europa League they have won just one match, losing the other two. They still have a chance of qualifying but will need to produce a bit result away from home either this week or against Liverpool in the next gameweek.

Young Boys are being left behind in Europe by teams who are willing to invest large sums into transfers. Young boys have made a net profit on transfers of around €7.5m over the past two years, this is mirrored by most clubs in Switzerland who do not have the revenue to be able to spend money on excess transfers. Instead Young Boys has worked towards bringing through their own players and have a squad consisting of mainly Swiss players under 25, a plan that is sustainable going forward.

Udinese are favourites as the home side here but they are not priced as low as some may expect. This is due to Italian sides often playing a reduced quality side in this competition and focusing totally on the league.
