This may seem like a “gimme” for Croatia but at home Azerbaijan can be a tough ask. As fate would have it Croatian legend Robert Prosinecki is the new coach of The Azeri and it could be vital. He has been at the helm for two games and they have remained unbeaten and looked a bit more organised. Azerbaijan are currently in 5th with just 4 points but will have their sights on finishing the group well. At home they have 1 win and 2 losses. Beating Malta but losing to Bulgaria and Norway (but crucially by just the 1 goal) – they are for sure more confident in Baku. Croatia are top of the section with 4 wins and 2 draws with a great haul of 16 goals scored. Croatia have only played 2 games away though (beating Bulgaria and drawing with Italy) For me a win is all they are after here and they will play tight. Croatia have three key men on the verge of a ban too with Mateo Kovačić, Mario Mandžukić and Ivica Olić all potentially out of the key away match with Norway. So they could all be potentially rested here.
With a +1.25 start I think Azerbaijan are worth following. Croatia have had excellent results and do have a superb side but in Baku it will be tough. We get paid on a Azerbaijan win or draw. While a 1 goal loss sees half a win and half stakes refunded.
