Two sides going in opposite directions here meet at Gdansk. Poland top a group containing Germany, Ireland and Scotland.  While Greece are rock bottom in their group containing Faroe Islands. If that wasn’t bad enough the Greeks have lost home and away to the tiny Island team! Poland are unbeaten in 9 matches – their run includes 5 wins and 4 draws. A home win over Germany is included in that sequence. They have scored 24 and conceded 6 in that 15 month period.  They are ranked at 21 in UEFA and that ranking will increase when the next update is announce in July.  Greece are pretty much rock bottom at the moment. Their 2004 Euro Championsip win looks a long way off. They have not won a single game since the World Cup. A run of 7 games that includes 2 draws and 5 defeats. The home loss to Faroe Islands meant the end of the short reign of Claudio Ranieri and the new boss Markarian wont last much longer I imagine after Faroes completed the double in Torshavn, Greece have not managed to beat Northern Ireland and Finland in that poor run also so its not a fluke.

 The odds are shortening all the time on Poland here. Greece are ranked ahead of Poland in FIFA rankings but that wont last long as both sides are heading in different directions. Poland are the better side by a mile here and expect a decent win. I take them as the bet of the day.
