ITALY v COSTA RICA:OPENING GAMES

Italy shaded a game with England in the Amazonian sweat den of Manaus. In a suprisingly open game the Azzurri took the points with a 2-1 win thanks to a Super Mario header. Italy looked good in possession but were a little narrow at time but were just about worth the win. Costa Rica pulled a rabbit out of the hat with a 3-1 over fancied Uruguay. They pulled apart the South Americans time and time again and in all honesty I think the win was fair as Uruguay were abject in defence.Costa Rica like to attack from wide but I dont think they will have any success here against the wiley Italians.

BETTING ANALYSIS

Both teams sit with three points but for me Italy are a far superior side to the Central Americans. Italy are under rated again here and the odds are moving into insane territory. 1.53 (8/15) is massive and this in truth is a banker bet. Uruguay were poor in Conmebol qualifying and finished nearer to bottom than top. Italy were too good for England and Pirlo will again orchestrate the Italian tempo.
