AZERBAIJAN - LUXEMBOURG PREDICTIONS

A match all of Europe is looking forward to is taking place in Baku.  Azerbaijan play host to Luxembourg as both sides seek a first win in Group F.

Azerbaijan are slowly improving as a nation and their results are improving year on year. They are generally a tough side to take on at their home Baku pitch. On their travels they tend to fold easily and results are usually poor. Being on the cusp of Asia and not far from the Middle East they tend to mix up their friendlies with games not inclusively against European nations. Since the start of 2012 they have won 3, drawn 5 and lost 3 with 12 goals scored and 13 conceded.  You can see the strength of them at home as they have 3 wins, 3 draws and 1 defeat. The narrow loss coming against a Ronaldo inspired Portugal so no great shame. Coached by legendary German Bertie Vogts the Azerbaijan side must not be taken lightly. Azerbaijan have yet to win in the group but do have 3 draws and 3 defeats including a home draw against Israel. Their results are a bit lopsided as they have played 4 away and only 2 at home.

Luxembourg are another side simply making up the numbers in international football. As proof they have lost seven of the last ten and drawn the other three.  In the run of games they only managed 4 goals yet conceded 22.  Luxembourg have managed a few goals over the past years and are a little bit better than the likes of San Marino and Andorra. The team have a couple of players in teams across Europe with Mario Mutch probably the standout  player. They sit bottom of the group with 0 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats. Scoring 2 and conceding 12.

 AZERBAIJAN - LUXEMBOURG BETTING TIPS

This should be a straight forward win for Azerbaijan and I was quite surprised to see the odds around 1.55. Azerbaijan at home against Luxembourg is nailed on home win and I see a straightforward victory. Luxembourg will amend their style slightly here and I don’t see them parking the bus. This will play straight into the hands of the improving Azeri who are well drilled by the old hand Vogts. At home  in Baku an Azerbaijan win at 1.55 (pinnacle) is a decent value bet.
