Bolivia v Venezuela predictions

Bolivia hosts Venezuela in La Paz for this World Cup Qualifier. The home side is six points behind Venezuela holding fifth (Qualification spot) in the South American qualification group. At home in the high alltitude Bolivia is 2-2-2 (10-8) after six matches. Venezuela is 1-2-3 (5-9) away. In the reverse fixture Venezuela beat Bolivia 1-0.

Bolivia doesn't have any super stars in their squad. Most play in South America. Overall, this qualification hasn't been much of a success for them. At home they're 2-2-0 in their last four though, so some home form is brewing. In the last Qualification home game they drew Argentina. In the game before that they took the scalp of Uruguay in an eyebrow raising 4-1 win. I guess one can say Boliva does need a win here to still have any hope of going to Brazil. They'll be spurred on by their most recent home successes, and give it a go!

Venezuela seems to have a better squad player for player. They also have some players in Europe. Tomás Rincón (Midfielder) for instance plays for HSV. Juan Arango, the experienced team captain plays in the Gladbach midfield. Other than that Vizcarrondo (Central Defender) plays for a pretty decent Lanus side in Argentina. In 50 matches for Venezuela he has also scored a massive 8 goals. Up front they got Mario Rondón of Nacional (Portugal). Good player, but he's not going to set the stage on fire on his own if you know what I mean.

Betting tips for 1X2

The big worry for me when it comes to Venezuela is that they don't travel well. Going to La Paz, playing in very high alltitude is not going to be an easy task for sure. Betsson prices the home win at 1.85 (17/20). I give it a go due to the recent improvement in home form.

Total Goals

The Under 2.5 would normally be the favorite here. Seven of their combined Home/Away Qualfication matches have gone under. However Bolivia is in last chance saloon and needs to go forward. This will open the game up. Also, Bolivia has not played a Brazil 2014 Qualification match at home with less than two goals occuring. Venezuela has played over 2.5 in two of their last three Qualification matches too. For me, this puts the Over 2.5 goals line on my agenda. 2.05 (21/20) is on offer from Betsson. Consider it taken!
