SWEDEN V GERMANY: PREDICTIONS

Sweden finished comfortably in second and will use game as a warm up for the 2 legged playoff to come.  The Scandanavians really now their own game inside out and are a very difficult unit to overcome. In Zlatan they have a truly world class player but although there is quality around him they are not an elite side. However results speak for themselves. 6 wins, 2 draws and 1 defeat in a fairly strong group show they have really performed.

Germany waltzed the group with 8 wins and 1 draw from their 9 games. Scoring 31 goals and conceding just 7. The squad has lost just once in 14 games and that was with a second string selection in USA.  This side is packed with talent, every  position is filled by a top drawer player and they are one of the best sides in the world for sure. This is emphasised by the fact they have scored at least three goals in each of their last eight games!  26 goals scored and 10 conceded, they do let goals in but the confidence of this side means they are confident enough to just keep going. Knowing goals will come. The scary thing for everyone else is the majority of this side is under 25 and will just keep improving.

Have to take Germany here, cannot oppose them under any circumstances. Sweden are not a patch on the Teutonic giants and will be unable to match them here. Germany will be honing their squad up for sure and although they may play fringe men they are generally quality.
