Finland open up their 2014 World Cup qualifying campaign with a tough assignment against France. The French seem to be going through another renaissance after bowing out of Euro 2012 in typical fashion.

Finland have been involved in several crazy games with goals galore. They are only a young side with little experience although they do have a few players at top level clubs. They like to line up in a 4-5-1 formation but the wide men are more attacking wingers.The central three of Hetemaj, Sparv and Ermenko are decent players and much is expected of frontman Teemu Pukki. Historically they have lost all matches to France and this game looks like another they may struggle in. France go into the game amid the usual choatic goings on after a major tournement. For this game Samir Nasri is suspended for the after game shenanigans with a TV reporter. Hatem Ben Arfa and Yann M'Vila are dropped for their carry on during the tournament. Deschamps has a few key choices to make on the pitch, mainly the left back position as Patrice Evra is totally out of form. Central midfield sees Cabaye, Mavuba and Diaby vying for two roles. Diaby was immense in the recent Arsenal win at Liverpool and that game may be enough to merit inclusion. Upfront Giroud may not make the starting eleven after his errant start to the season. He has looked all at sea for Arsenal and has struggled to adapt to the pace of the Premiership. Benzema may be preferred on his own up front as France shape up in their own 4-5-1.
