Scotland play their second home game in a week and they really must take the win if they want any chance of progression in this campaign. FYR Macedonia stand in the way and are a team who are capable of getting results.

Scotland come into the game off the back of an encouraging 0-0 at home to Serbia.  Suffering a few withdrawels led to enforced changes. They lined up in a 4-1-4-1 formation, Scotland created a few chances but none clear cut. This was a genuine chance of for them to take three points  off one of the better group sides as Serbia were poor here. Coach Levein targeted 4 points from the opening two games so a win against FYR Macedonia keeps them on track. The level of the squad is ok with Premiership names in there but they should not trouble the top teams. But backed by a vociferous crowd and playing a bit more attacking football they should have too much for their opponents. FYR Macedonia went to Croatia and gave a good account of themselves and were unlucky to lose 1-0. Lining up in a 4-4-2 they gave a dogged display and defended strongly throughout the match. Upfront they looked good with two good displays from keymen Goran Pandev and in particular Agim Ibraimi. The Maribor forward caused several problems with his set piece deliveries and creative play. The team although relatively new to the scene are quite experienced as they have a settled squad. However they are a hard side to pin down as they are capable of the sublime to ridiculous results. Losing at Luxembourg then drawing away to Portugal in consecutive results sums them up perfectly.
