INTER – GENOA: PREDICTIONS

Huge game on opening gameweek in San Siro, a revamped (as usual) Inter side host Genoa.

Inter finished in their lowest finish for 19 years after a dismal showing. Massimo Marrati moved to bring in Walter Mazzari who surprisingly swapped a Champions League season with Napoli for the intense pressure of I Nerazzurri. As usual for Inter a whole host of players come in at the start of the season and their fascination with Argentines shows no sign of abating.  The four are striker Mauro Icardi, Ruben Botta, Hugo Campagnaro and Matias Silvestre joining and the latter two hoping to shore up the back line.  Big things are expected of the two attackers signed with Ishok Belfodil and Saphir Taider decent players. Key men have departed but the lack of effort last years means the impact may not be that great. Out goes Dejan Stankovic, Walter Gargano, Antonio Cassano and Matias Silvestre.

Genoa really struggled last year and were very nearly relegated. Only a strong unbeaten run of 8 games at the end of the season actually kept them up. Its surprising therefore to see little transfer activity at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris. Decent signings in Alberto Gilardino and Ciccio Lodi, with the latter a real gamewinner. Midfielder Rodney Strasser and defender Sime Vrsaljko were the only other players of note to come in.

INTER – GENOA: BETTING TIPS

Huge evolution for Inter as their seems to be every season. After the Stramaccioni experiment failed badly Inter moved for astute Napoli coach Mazzarri. No doubting his credentials and I expect Inter to improve for that. Some key players have left its true but none of the guys leaving really bust a gut over the years for the Inter cause so best rid I think. Some real potential in the new guys but I see a tight Inter for the opening games as Mazzarri tries to evaluate his squad. I take Inter at a decent price of 1.70 with William hill.
