It's Sicily v Sardinia as two teams under pressure go head to head. Palermo v Cagliari is a fiery game and is sure to produce the goods in a tight game.

Palermo coach Guiseppe Saninno seems under immense pressure at the moment after two heavy losses at the start of the season. An opening period involving games with Lazio and Napoli is a difficult pair of games and Sannino will be judged after the fixture list eases. He obviously cannot keep losing heavily as any more 3-0 defeats will see Muarizio Zamparini hovering as he's not known for his patience. Palermo tried a change of formation and went with a 4-4-2 that was more 4-5-1 as Josip Ilicic played very deep. On the hour mark and 2-0 down Saninno made wholesale changes and went 4-3-3 with Abel Hernandez and Dybala up top with Ilicic but it made little impact. Palermo are still without the injured Franco Brienza, Eran Zahavi and Ignacio Lores, while Andrea Mantovani remains a doubt. Cagliari are in need of points and a performance after a stuttering start of their own. A 2-0 away loss to Genoa was a non-event as they lost without much fight. In the last match in a home game against Atalanta they managed to scramble a last minute draw even though they faced a side with 10 for sixty minutes and somehow contrived to miss two penalties.  Albin Ekdal salvaging the point with virtually the last kick of the game. They are having trouble with Chilean striker Mauricio Pinilla, arguing publicly over his fitness or percieved lack of it.  Coach Massimo Ficcadenti may even start  Marco Sau for his debut. The 24-year-old has scored 41 goals in the past two years on loan at Foggia and Juve Stabia, but has yet to play in Serie A.
