Italy won 2-1 against Mexico in the First round of their Confederations Cup campaign. They had no easy game against Mexico, and were perhaps a wee bit lucky in the end. Here they should have El Shaarway fit again to play again! Given their mentioned win, they can still progress if they lose here but get a result against Brazil in the last round. However, Brazil at home is never going to be easy. Not even if Brazil win against Mexico the Italians can be 100% sure Scolaris men will take the foot off the gas pedal. They'd want to go and win this one.

Japan lost 3-0 to a vibrant Japan, not much of a surprise that really! Japan has a relatively solid defense, and a couple of really speedy, talented offensive players to go with it. On their day they can definitely give Italy problems. For Japan this is a must win game, and I am fairly sure they'll give it their all.

Looking at the odds for Italy I am not too impressed. I rate this Japan side on par with Mexico minimum. So, if Italy v Mexico should give us any indications, Japan can definitely hurt this Italy side. Players such as Nagatomo (Inter), Uchida (Schalke), Kagawa (Man U) and Honda (CSKA) are pure quality. The rest of the side isn't poor either. 

I will go with the draw here for my 1X2 bet. 3.50 (5/2) is available from Betsson. That is a really really big price in my opinion. Japan will perhaps prefer a win, but the draw can be good for them too if they beat Mexico in the last game and Italy lose to Brazil. Also, I think Italy has enough in them to avoid defeat. Like all Italian sides this one is organized very well!
