Lazio v Roma at the Stadio Olimpico and it has massive ramifications for European Champions League. Both teams would be assured passage into the Champions League with a draw. Now these two hate each others guts so why would they do that? Lets look at the stats to see if that enlightens us. Lazio are in 3rd and the final Champs League spot. They are in 3rd position with 66 points and are guaranteed the playoff spot as Napoli must overcome a 14+ goal difference. They are just 1 point behind Roma with 2 games left including this one. Recent form for Lazio reads 2 wins, 2 draws and 2 losses as they have struggled with the pressure. Roma know a win here would give them passage into group stages of UCL. They are in slighty better form than Lazio though with 3 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses. No major injury or suspensions in either camp.
This is unusual in that it’s a 3 way game with odds similar on all outcomes. A win for either side would really have a massive effect on the group stage champions league and 2nd place. However for me this is a hugely aggressive derby and a real hatred between the two. Too much importance on not losing and the draw looks the best bet. Not an outcome I like to take but here I take it as the bet of the day.
