SAMPDORIA V GENOA : PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS

Its derby day in Genoa as both sides look for their first wins of the season. Sampdoria  followed up a single goal loss to Juventus with a 2-2 draw in Bologna when a Manolo Gabbiadini strike earned a deserved point. Coach Rossi should have a full team to select from with no injury concerns, and will be confident of victory over the neighbours. Previous meetings don’t give us much of a clue with a pretty equal split of results, Sampdoria won the fixture 3-1 last season.

Genoa have started with two losses and have been easily brushed aside in both games. Fiorentina ran riot last week and a 5-2 scoreline accurately described the story of the game. Defenders Marchese and Sampirisi will miss the derby suspended and Antonelli is injured. Gilardino will be expected to carry the attacking threat for Genoa and comes face to face here with Gabbiadini who was his striking partner at Bologna last season. Both will be eager to outdo each other.

SAMPDORIA V GENOA: BETTING TIPS

Derby games can be hard to predict but I think everything points to a home win here. Genoa have looked poor so far and defensive misses mean they could add to the seven conceded already. Sampdoria haven’t made a great start with just a point in two games but signs are far more positive than their neighbours. A Sampdoria win is 6/4(2.50) with William Hill and this looks a good price to me and should be taken as soon as possible.
