Udinese v Roma predictions
Both Udinese and Roma are still within reach of European football next year, but they can't really afford to lose here if the teams above them on the table win. Both sides are in good shape. Udinese is unbeaten at home over a span of twelve Serie A games (7-5-0). Roma hasn't exactly been a revelation away from home. 1-1-4 is their recent away record. It must however be said they outscored Atalanta last time they played away, like I predicted.
For Udinese Mehdi Benatia (Defender), Giampiero Pinzi (midfielder) and Andrea Lazzari (Midfielder) are still ruled out. Defender Giovanni Pasquale is a serious doubt. American midfielder Michael Sheehan Bradley is suspended for Roma. Fellow midfielder Miralem Pjanic is a serious doubt after being taken off against Genoa after taking a knock. The young Brazilian defender Marquinhos is definitely ruled out.
The last season Udinese beat Roma 2-0. It was a balanced tie. Roma was slightly better, but couldn't convert. The reverse fixture this season also ended with a victory for Udinese (3-2). Again Roma was the better side. They even went up 2-0 after two Erik Lamela goals, before collapsing.

Roma has a mighty offensive, but Udinese can definitely absorb that. Even with the players missing I should add. After they were shocked by Juventus on their first home game of the season (1-4). They have beat AC Milan 2-1, Inter Milan 3-0, Fiorentina 3-1 and held Napoli to a 0-0 draw. What this also shows is that Udinese can score goals. With Antonio Di Natale leading the line Udinese will always be a threat.
Against a Roma side that I think lacks good defensive organisation and often run into problems away from home I think Udinese should be the favorite in this setting.
