LIVERPOOL - OLYMPIAKOS : PREDICTIONS

Liverpool open their 2013-14 home season with a fixture against Olympiakos, its Steven Gerrard’s testimonial but will be a fully competitive friendly.

Liverpool will be looking to hit the ground running this season. The Reds cannot afford to drop any silly points if they truly want to challenge for a Champions League position.  Liverpool have improved their squad no end with the signings over the summer. Incoming players Belgian goalkeeper Simon; Spanish midfielder Luis Alberto; Spanish forward Iago Aspas and Ivory Coast defender Kolo Toure. Jamie Carragher has retired while Pepe Reina has been shipped out to Napoli.

Olympiakos are single handedly keeping the Greek league going. After the collapse of Panathinaikos and AEK Athens the league is on the brink. With Greece in generally really struggling Olympiakos will need to try and ride their way through the troubles.  Last year’s title took their haul to 40 wins; a massive amount of championships. Olympiakos are 1.15 favourites to take this years title which is ridiculous seeing as a ball has yet to be kicked.

LIVERPOOL - OLYMPIAKOS : BETTING TIPS

A glorified friendly match for sure but one I see Liverpool working hard to win for their captain. Liverpool have worked hard on fitness and have played high tempo friendlies already in the Far East and Australia. The side is looking solid now and is a better team than Olympiakos for sure.
