MONACO - TOTTENHAM : PREDICTIONS

Top quality friendly here as mega bucks Monaco host soon to be mega bucks Tottenham. By the time this game kicks off Spurs could have 80 million plus to spend but be missing a Bale.

Monaco won promotion to Ligue 1 last year and then all hell broke loose. For a combined 144 Millions euros this lot have practically confirmed a Champions League spot for next year. Wether they can top the even more money of PSG is another thing but its going to improve Ligue 1 for sure.

Tottenham are in a real catch 22 situation regarding Gareth Bale. There is no question the have to accept the world record fee they have been offered but the problem is who to then buy? For me hes one the best attackers in world football; not in the league of Messi or Ronaldo but as influential as the next tier of attackers. Spurs have been busy already and have bought in 3 very good players; Spanish forward Roberto Soldado; Belgian midfielder Nacer Chadli and Brazilian midfielder Paulinho from Corinthians. Soldado could be the missing link for Spurs but if Bale goes they have to tear up the seasons plans and revise.  Strong defender Jan Vertonghen sits out here after an injury in the last friendly.

MONACO - TOTTENHAM: BETTING TIPS

This is a really close game here between two quality sides. I think Monaco are a decent price at home here. 2.40 Monaco (williamhill) could look a huge price come game time, a lot of bookmakers are cutting the price and   I think this could go off around 2.15ish. Spurs without Bale more than likely and missing Vertonghan too. Home win looks great value for me.
