PRESTON - LIVERPOOL: PREDICTIONS

Preston welcome Premiership giants Liverpool to Deepdale, a fixture that should line the home pockets with a bumper crown expected. This match will commemorate a legend of both sides and has been designated The Bill Shankly Cup.

Preston are an England League One outfit, the side should arguably be playing a lot higher but seem happy to sell players on whenever they show any promise. This season under seasoned championship coach Simon Grayson Preston are expected to challenge for a promotion place. With Kevin Davies signed from Bolton and an already well stocked squad they should be a decent shout for a top finish. Preston have yet to begin their preseason programme and this will be their 1^st game.

Liverpool jet off to the Far East and Australia after this game and it will more than likely be a side mixed off 1^st eleven players and a few fringe men. Liverpool is without their Confederations Cup participants, who have not yet returned to the club so Pepe Reina, Seb Coates and Luis Suarez will take no part.  Brendan Rogers has stated all four new signings will get game time so Simon Mignolet, Aspas, Luis Alberto and Kolo Toure will all feature.

PRESTON – LIVERPOOL: BETTING TIPS           

Liverpool will want to use this game as a warm up but I have a feeling Preston will not let them. A bustling Preston side who look likely to be a dark horse for England League 1 look a decent side. Liverpool will just be aiming to take a few steps towards fitness and will likely be keen to stretch their legs. With a host of new signings hoping to ingratiate themselves to the Liverpool fans early on this should be a great game. The odds look right on the money and with no sub markets available we have to concentrate on 1x2. I think an opening game for both sides could be difficult. Both sides will make a multitude of changes ingame too so with that in mind I take The Draw at 3.75 (willhill)
