ST MIRREN V HEARTS PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

The Scottish League Cup final sees two teams who have had poor league campaigns so far look to salvage their season with a Cup win.

St Mirren are down in 11^th in the SPL but have no fear of relegation with Dundee 14 points behind them in the only relegation spot.  Their run to the final has been excellent with wins over Ayr United and Hamilton at home followed by a tough away win over Aberdeen on penalties.  They got their trip to Hampden in the semi-final but were expected to lose to a much fancied Celtic side, but an excellent performance from the Saints saw a 3-2 win and their place booked for the League Cup Final.

Hearts are just one place ahead of St Mirren in the table and have had a terrible season both on and off the park.  The company that own them has stopped funding losses and all of their board members have resigned.  That has caused numerous late payment to players and there is a real chance of administration for the club.  This has obviously affected their on the field performances but they will be safe in the SPL for another season if they can avoid administration.

Both teams will put aside their poor season’s and go allout for the win here.  The fans of both clubs will enjoy their day out at Hampden in the knowledge that it might not happen again soon for either side.

Both teams are quite evenly matched with a small advantage going to Hearts.  On their day they can be a top 3 team in the league but they have been terribly inconsistent this year but if there is one match to lift your game for it is a cup final.
