Scotland FA Cup time and its 2 unheralded sides in the last two. Falkirk are from the 2nd tier and didn’t even manage to get in the top 4 and a place in the playoffs. They finished 5th with 53 points, a huge 38 points behind Hearts in 1st. History favours Falkirk in meetings between the sides, winning the last three and being unbeaten in five. But the two sides have not met since 23 May 2009. Midfielder Mark Kerr and striker John Baird are cuptied while striker Rory Loy is fit but has not started since March. Mixed form for The Bairns with 4 wins, 1 draw and 4 defeats in last 9 games. (just 1 win in last 5) Inverness go into this one as big favourites and rightly so. They finished in 3rd position in Scotland Premiership with 65 points from 38 games. Mixed form for them too with 3 wins, 3 draws and 3 losses. (win, draw and loss against runaway leaders Celtic in that recent formline) Out for them will be defender Gary Warren.
I think Falkirk will have their big day out but Inverness should have this one in the bag. Full confidence and go with a -1 handicap. This is my “Bet of the Day” also. Huge gap in quality and Inverness would win Scotland Championship in the manner Hearts did. Falkirk would be battling it out for bottom place if they were in the Premiership for sure.
