ST MIRREN V CELTIC PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

In a replay of the League Cup semi-final where St Mirren shocked Celtic with a 3-2 win we have the teams meet in the Scottish Cup quarter finals where Celtic will look for revenge on their Paisley rivals.

St Mirren are 10^th in the SPL with 32 points from 28 matches and are not having the best of seasons in the league.  Their trip to the League Cup final is the biggest part of their year and they will fancy their chances against a Hearts team who they beat in the league midweek 2-0.

Celtic are top of the league by 19 points ahead of Motherwell, but midweek they were shocked with a 2-1 defeat against that Motherwell side who thoroughly deserved their win.  Celtic must bounce back quickly and I’m sure manager Neil Lennon will ring the changes to let the players know that performance and result was not acceptable.

With the league almost over and Celtic certain to go out of the Champions League at Juventus midweek this is the only competitive competition left for them to fight for so it is imperative they get the result here.

ST MIRREN V CELTIC PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW

Celtic are strong favourites as they are for every domestic fixture, despite their midweek blip at Motherwell.  I don’t expect Celtic to lose focus on this match by thinking ahead to the trip to Juventus midweek due to the bleak score-line in that tie already at 0-3.  They will know this competition is their last chance to do the double this year and will be playing a full strength side to maximise their chances.
