ATHLETIC BILBAO V ATLETICO MADRID PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Bilbao has had a poor season so far by their standards and they sit 15^th in the table just 4 points above the relegation zone.  They have not won for 4 matches and face a very tough challenge in this game.

Atletico have had a much better season and are a deserved 2^nd place in the table.  They are 8 points off Barcelona at the top but have a 7 point buffer over 3^rd place Real Madrid so they have a great chance of holding onto second place.

The big news this week from Bilbao is that want away striker Fernando Llorente has signed a pre contract agreement with Juventus to move in the summer when his contract expires.  Bilbao had the chance to sell him in the summer but wouldn’t budge on their huge valuation and now they’ll lose the player on a free, this really wasn’t a good business decision even if they wanted to send a message that they wouldn’t be bullied in transfers.

Atletico are favourites here and with their excellent form this season you can understand why.  They will be missing star striker Radamel Falcao however and will have to find someone to replace his goals while he is out with a hamstring problem.

I still think Madrid have the quality for the win and think there is good value to be had.
