GRANADA - GETAFE PREDICTIONS

Granada host Getafe in Spain Primera, both sides are playing for position only as nothing rests on this.

Granada live to face another year in Primera Division, they looked in danger around April but have had a good series of results and hauled themselves clear of danger. With a recent form line of 3 wins, 2 draws and 4 defeats they gave themselves a gap over Celta and Depor.  With 9 goals scored and 15 conceded they have shown to be a bit suspect defensively with 10 goals let in, in back to back hammerings against Betis and Atletico Madrid. They have tightened up considerably since then and have only let 5 goals in after that. Key men for Granada are Brazilian duo Santos Iriney in the middle and marauding left back Guilherme Siqueira. Morroccan striker Youssef El Arabi has a promising debut season and will be one to watch next season.

Getafe were flying in Primera for most of the season but the wheels came off around mid March. After that they were in dismal shape and defeat followed defeat as confidence evaporated from the capital city side. In a run that  included 1 win, 2 draws and 6 defeats they plummeted down the table. The run did not even include games against Real or Barce so you can see how their performance levels dropped.  Getafe were never destroyed though but found it difficult to score. Managing to bag only 5 goals while letting in 11. Getafe only managed 4 wins from 18 away games all season and were not prolific either. Indeed Getafe’s major goal threat comes from the middle not the strikers. Diego Castro and Abdel Barrada both providing the main attacking impetus.
