RAYO VALLECANO – REAL MADRID STATS

Rayo Vallecano started the season in excellent form winning their first two games.  They have had back to back tough games against Seville and Athletico Madrid where they only managed to pick up a point.  They’ll still be pleased with their 6^th place position in la liga with 7 points from 4 games.

Real Madrid have had one of the worst starts in their history winning just one of their first 4 la liga games.  Jose Mourinho called on them to show some fight against Manchester City in the Champions League, and that is what they did, coming back from a goal behind with 5 minutes left to win the game.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Their seems to be something of a power struggle going in within Real Madrid at the moment with some of the top players clashing with manager Jose Mourinho.  For the Champions League game against Manchester City Sergio Ramos was dropped just before kick-off after a reported argument with Mourinho.  The team responded with a battling victory which should spur them on to better performances in the league.

Ronaldo widely celebrated his winning goal which may mean his ‘profession unhappiness’, which seems to stem from his contract, may well be getting resolved to his liking.  The team must fight together from now on if they are to have any chance of clawing back Barcelona this season.
