Valencia finished 3^rd in la liga last season which gave them automatic Champions League qualification and they are aiming for the same finish this year.  Their start has been difficult however and they have not registered a win in their first 3 league games.  They started with one of the most difficult fixtures of the season, away at Real Madrid and came away with an excellent 1-1 draw.  They would have hoped to get their first win at home to newly promoted Deportivo but only managed another draw, 3-3 this time.  They were then back to another nightmare fixture, away to Barcelona, and were defeated 1-0.  As much as 2 points out of 3 games doesn’t seem good enough for a team with aspirations at the top of the table they have already played their 2 most difficult games of the season and have much easier fixtures ahead.

Celta Vigo had a tough start to their la liga life after promotion from Segunda Division last year.  They lost their first two games to Malaga and Real Sociedad before winning their first game at home to Ossasuna.
