Mallorca need all three points in this BBVA LIGA match if they are to avoid relegation. Even if they do win, they still need other teams near them on the table to give up points.
Unbelievably enough Mexico insisted on having Giovanni Dos Santos released early for the Confederations Cup so now Mallorca must do without both him and top scorer Tomer Hemed. For a team that doesn't score many goals that is pretty bad news.
Valladolid has nothing more to play for and come into this game in pretty awful form with only one point away from home in their last five and only one win in their last six overall. Sastre (Midfield) is out due to suspension. Other than that Guerra (striker with 8 goals in 30 starts) as well as Balenziaga (Defender) are both out.
