REAL MADRID V ATLETICO MADRID PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Real Madrid are 3^rd in the table with 26 points from 13 games, winning 8 drawing 2 and losing 3.  They have scored 2.46 goals per game compared to 0.77 conceded for a total goal difference of +22.  Their recent form has seen 4 wins and one defeat with a combined score of 16-3, 4 of the 5 games ended with over 2.5 goals.

Atletico are 2^nd in the table with 34 points from 13 games, winning 11, drawing 1 and losing 1.  They have scored 2.23 goals per game while conceding 0.85 for a goal difference of +18.  Their recent form has seen 4 wins and one defeat in their last 5 games, with a combined score of 10-3, 2 of the 5 games ended with over 2.5 goals.

TEAM NEWS AND RUN OF PLAY

Real may have lost their title last week after their 3^rd loss of the season at Betis left them 11 points behind leaders Barcelona.  With just one classic remaining this season it is looking almost impossible for Madrid to be able to catch their big rivals and hold on to the title they won last year.

Real don’t seem to have any obvious problems, they have the second best defensive record in the league and the second best attacking record.  Yet at times they just can’t get the goal they need to win the tight games. 

Atletico are still clinging on to Barcelona and are only 3 points behind them.  This game could cement their second place position if they can get a result but they still seem certain of a top 4 spot and Champions League place next year regardless of what happens.

Striker Radamel Falcao has found his scoring touch again for his 11^th goal in 12 matches this season, he’ll be a target for Europe’s biggest clubs come January and Atletico will do well to hang onto him until the summer.
