VALENCIA V REAL MADRID PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS
This is the second leg of the Copa del Ray quarter final with the first leg finishing in a routine 2-0 win to Madrid. Both teams were taking the competition will full focus, naming full strength sides and it was Madrid who got the breakthrough in the first half. Karim Benzema slotting in a Sami Khedira pass. Madrid doubled their advantage after the break with an own goal from Valencia left back Andres Guardado. That saw the game out and left Madrid in pole position to qualify for the semi-finals.
The teams met in the league at the weekend, also at the Mestalla and it was an ominous sign for Valencia. Madrid crushed them from the first whistle, scoring within 10 minutes from Higuain. Things just got worse from there as doubles from Angel di Maria and Cristiano Ronaldo led Madrid to an astonishing 5-0 half time lead. They slowed down after have time and the game finished 5-0 but it shows the power Madrid have, playing a top side away from home and easily dismissing them.
VALENCIA V REAL MADRID PREDICTIONS: 1X2 BETTING PREVIEW
Valencia need to put that game behind them and focus on this as simply a one off cup game. That will be easier said than done of course with the majority of each team likely to start again but with a 2-0 defeat in the first leg they have nothing to lose.
Madrid may rotate slightly but I’d still expect a strong side to come out, they have 4 days to recover before a home match against Getafe, leaving plenty of time for players to rest. The cups are Madrid’s only hope of trophies this year as a 15 point deficit to Barcelona is insurmountable in the league.
Madrid are favourites here again as you would expect but the market must feel they are going to rest players or not push hard for the win as the price isn’t as you’d expect for a replay of a match dominated 5-0 just a few days ago.
I’m going to bet on Madrid to continue their winning ways against Valencia for the 3rd time in a week and will be visiting Interwetten to back a Madrid win at 1.85.
