Zaragoza sit 12^th in La Liga going into the weekend with 12 points (W4 D0 L6). Recent weeks have seen their form improve slightly at LLWWL but it seems that is the story of their season. At home they have suffered three 1-0 defeats and two good wins, including their last home win against Sevilla. Their games average 2.40 goals with half seeing over 2.5 goals.

Deportivo sit 5 places below their hosts but have scored just two points fewer (W2 D4 L4). Their losing streak was ended a couple of weeks and form of LLLDW suggests an improvement. Away from home they have secured three draws and have been beaten twice. Their games average 3.50 goals but only 4 have been over 2.5 goals; stats may be skewed by two 6 goal matches and of course the 5-4 defeat at home to Barcelona.

Zaragoza will be missing Lanzaro and Obradovic while Aguilar and Salamao are absent for the visitors.

Zaragoza are very hit and miss at home this season. They have been defeated by mediocre teams and have beaten some too. Without a draw yet this season it seems they need to score a few more goals to turn those narrow defeats into draws and wins. The key to maintaining their mid-table status is probably picking up more points at home.

Deportivo have secured some decent results this season so far and ran Barcelona close in the 9 goal thriller a few weeks ago. A 1-0 win against Mallorca last time out will do wonders to their confidence too and prove that they are able to grind out results. They are fairly high scoring but for me Zaragoza’s defence will put up a stern wall. It remains to be seen as to whether their defence can be as solid.

This game will no doubt be a close match. Deportivo away from home have played well and secured some good draws and have suffered a couple of narrow defeats. Zaragoza have been similar at home, so I’m sure this game will be as close. For me it screams draw. It’s hard to judge by the sides’ league positions with the closeness of the league so on current form I think the draw is the bet at 3.48 with Pinnacle.
