FINLAND V GERMANY PREDICTIONS

The first day of the 2013 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship is here and brings us four games. 2^nd ranked Finland takes on the 10^th ranked Germany. Finland finished 3^rd in their group last year and lost to Russia in the semifinals after beating USA in the quarterfinal. Finland fell to the Czech Republic in the bronze medal game and finished 4^th in the tournament. Germany finished 6^th in their group and did not qualify for the playoffs. Finland has won the last 5 competitive matches between the two teams.

Finland has appeared in the tournament 51 times and has won 2 times, latest being 2011. Finland only has 1 player coming over from the NHL in Lauri Korpikoski, who’s had a tough season in a struggling Phoenix Coyotes with only 11 pts in 34 games.
