Just how big is the World Cup for the bookmakers?

The FIFA 2014 World Cup in Brazil is easily the biggest sports arrangement of the year. Over 2.8 billion people are expected to watch the game on TV, and the sports books know that this is a massive opportunity to make an enormous amount of money. The pre-game markets are already up for most of the common bet types and as soon as Brazil and I can only assume that they are licking their chops on the prospect of the live betting revenue about to come in.

So, where does Howtobet.net fit in?

Howtobet.net aims to help you keep as much of your hard earned cash as possible, if possible even help you to hold more cash at the end of the World Cup than before it started. Keep in mind that Howtobet.net delivered a world class Return on Betting Turnover of over 120% on the Euro 2012, a massive return for such a high profile tournament. Can we match it again? Time will tell, but we sure will give it a try. It might not be a bad idea to keep up to date on our world cup predictions and world cup betting tips.

Some initial World Cup betting tips

At the time of writing it is still over three weeks until kick off, but I have assembled some of the most interesting World Cup betting tips I could find at this point in time.

To win the world Cup betting tips

The obvious choice is Brazil. They play at home! They have a team that plays with great belief and togetherness, and they got an experienced coach in Scolari. Last year they dethroned the mighty Spanish in the Confederations Cup Final, 3-0. A strong result in deed!

You can get odds of 4.0 on Brazil to win the world cup with Unibet. If you fancy the Brazilians now is a good time to bet them. The odds are likely to get lower closer to kick off as more people pile on.

Outsider bet for the world cup title

I will mention an outsider you can consider to bet as 2014 World Cup winner too! When I say England has a chance to win the world cup most people shake their head in disbelief. I really think they got a good shot at it. For once, they aren’t overrated. An underdog position suits them well! They got a solid defense, and I really like their attacking options. Lallana, Sterling and Barkley all bring youthful energy and bags of skill to the team. If Hodgson can fit them in I think this English team can go all the way.

If you agree with that I suggest you get going to BET365 who offers 34 (33/1) for that bet right now.

Group winner betting tips

Most of the World Cup groups will be extremely interesting to follow. Here are my preliminary group winner betting tips:

Group A betting tips

The group consists of Brazil, Mexico, Croatia and Cameroon. I think Croatia has a decent side in the making, and Cameroon has some players who can make life difficult for the best of sides on a good day. However, my Group A betting tip is easy to make. Brazil, priced at 1.25 with BET365 is a winner.

Group B betting tips

In Group B we find Spain, Netherlands, Chile and Australia. Spain is the favorite, priced at 1.78 with Unibet. Netherlands is 4.00 over at Coral and Chile is 5.00 with BET365. Both Netherlands and Chile plays entertaining football and got some great players. However, I do rate the Spaniards still. Just because they lost one game last year to Brazil doesn’t mean they can’t do well here. They look strong across the pitch, and no one can argue with the depth of the squad either. At 1.78 it’s a bet for me.

Group C betting tips

Colombia, Ivory Coast, Japan and Greece make up Group C of this World Cup. Colombia should be the best team by far of these four, even if star striker; Falcao might not be in top shape after having missed half a season. No disrespect to Greece, Japan and the Ivory Coast but my Group C betting tip is Colombia, priced at 1.80 with BET365.

Group D betting tips

This is a tricky group! Italy, Uruguay and England are in it. So is Costa Rica. Italy is priced at 2.75 with Paddy Power, Uruguay at 2.88 with Coral and England is currently 3.25 with BET365. For me the value is with Uruguay and England. Uruguay has Cavani and Suarez in front of a very capable set up. England is the underdog, and with a lot of modern footballers in the squad. I think England will grow as the tournament go along so I will set the money on Uruguay here. They’re more drilled as a team in my opinon.

Group E betting tips

France is made favorite, but I think the odds are too short given the drama that usually follows the French. Just look at the Twitter abuse Deschamps went through after leaving out Nasri, and the follow up lawsuit. This is not cool, calm and collected is it? I much rather go for an improved, and in my under-rated Switzerland at 3.75 with BET365.

If you agree with the reasoning, click here to go to BET365.

Group F betting tips

Argentina is the big favorite in group F that also contains Bosnia, Nigeria and Iran. With Messi and Di Maria doing ever so well in Spain, and a truckload of other world class stars Argentina can’t be overlooked. The price is 1.22 with BET365.

Group G betting tips

Another exciting Group this! Germany is the favorite at 1.57 with William Hill. Portugal who can challenge them if Ronaldo has a great group stage is priced at a generous 3.75 with BET365. Germany is the by far better side in my opinion. They’ve had a golden generation in the making ever since the Euro 2012, and these bright young stars now have amassed some experience from the Bundesliga and the Champions League. At the end of the day my betting tip is Germany to win Group G.

Group H betting tips

Belgium, Russia, South Korea and Algeria are the teams you find in Group H of the Brazil 2014 world cup. Belgium is made favorite, 1.67 with BET365. Russia is priced at a very decent 3.20, also with BET365. The Russians were outsiders to take the Euro 2012 tournament, but never really managed to put themselves in pole position to challenge. I doubt they have it in them here either, but it is a very well managed side. Defensively strong! Very technical! However, Belgium for me really has it all. Power, check! Pace, check! Ability, check! They tick all the important boxes. They defend well, and they got excellent players further up the pitch too. At 1.67 Belgium is my Group H winner betting tips.

Top Goal scorer betting tips

There are so many good players to choose from. This will really be down to how you read the group stages, and how likely it is the teams. From Brazil who easily can win it and is very likely to at least reach the semifinals you can get odds of 15 on Neymar from Paddy Power and 29 times your money on Fred with Sportingbet. Portugal’s Ronaldo has been on form lately, and you can get odds of 15 on him with Paddy Power.

Argentina is in a seemingly easy group. They should be able to get some goals before going into the knock out stages. Messi and Aguero are priced at 9 with William Hill and 17 with BET365 respectively.

Diego Costa and Torres of Spain are priced at 26 with Paddy Power and 75 with Unibet respectively. Torres still has a decent goal ratio with Chelsea, and if he is selected for Spain we know he can deliver looking at his past.

Luis Suarez can never be forgotten at 19 with Paddy Power either after having such a wonderful season and playing in such a gifted team. From the same group: Wayne Rooney is priced up at a seemingly attractive 51 with BET365. BET365 also has 67 times the money on Daniel Sturridge. If you agree with me that England can go far, those odds are juicy!

However, all things considered my top goal scorer betting tips is Thomas Muller at 34 with Coral. The German is a proven goal scorer, and he’s been playing relatively sparingly as of late. He should have plenty of surplus energy. He also has some wonderful attacking talent alongside him in players like Gotze and Reus. This could be his tournament.

If you agree with me, click here to go to Coral now.
