World Cup group B betting tips

Group B consists of Spain, Netherlands, Chile and Australia. As of now the best Group winner odds for this group are:

Australia sends a mix of domestic talent and some crafty foreign based players. I do not rate this squad much, even if they played evenly with Japan in qualification. They do not really offer enough going forward.

Chile has some really talented players. Their brightest star is Vidal of Juventus. They also got a handful of players who possess attacking flair who’s played relatively few games for their clubs due to being on the fringes. This could go either way. They might come in rested, ready to roar. They might come in out of form.

Netherlands has a fine squad and they looked convincing in qualification. However, I do think missing van der Wiel (PSG) and Strootman (Roma) will hurt them here.

My betting tip for Group B winner will be Spain. The Spaniards defeated the Dutch in the 2010 final, and I think they now got a better squad compared to Van Gaal’s selected men than back then. Much is said about Spain’s potential demise, but the mix of young and old in this squad should do them well in transition. I definitely see them going far.

To finish second in group          

The Netherlands could run into problems if they lose the opening game to Spain, which I think they will. The next game against Australia they should win. In the final game it is a most likely must win type of game. Chile is a team that can punish the Dutch if they go for playing three at the back (as van Gaal has said they will). The Chileans definitely have it in them to beat this Dutch side anyway on a good day. They have the player material for that. I find 3.00 on Chile quite generous from Paddy Power to be honest.
