Week 1 of the new Austria Bundesliga season, and the top two from last term meet up straight away. Rapid Wien finished a distant second last season, and the most successful and best supported side in Austria will hope to at least close the gap on Salzburg this time around. Last week they needed extra time to see off regional side Amstetten in the cup first round, gaining a 1-0 verdict in the end. With several decent looking signings made Rapid could have a decent season, and last term they managed to beat Salzburg in both home games, with a draw and a defeat in their visits to Salzburg. Schimpelsperger(def), Grahovac(mid) and Starkl(str) look set to miss for Rapid.
