A lot of changes were made to the Nurnberg squad from last season after they relegated to Bundesliga2. They sold all their best players with Josip Drmic going to Leverkusen, Hiroshi Kiyotake to Hannover, Daniel Ginczek to Stuttgart, Mike Frantz to Freiburg, Adam Hlousek to Stuttgart and Makoto Hasebe to Frankfurt. They have signed many interesting and talanted players though like 19yo Cristian Ramírez, 20yo Alessandro Schöpf from Bayern and 21 yo striker from Werder Niclas Füllkrug, and look to have a squad strong enough to bounce straight back up to the top league. Aue finished only fourteenth in Bundesliga 2 last season and will surely find Nurnberg too strong for them in this season opener.
