Leverkusen (15-3-11) finally lost patience with Hyypia after another defeat at Hamburg last week, and Sascha Lewandowski will take over until the end of the season. With just one win in the last nine league games it was somewhat inevitable, as Leverkusen went from certs for Champions league to the fifth place they occupy now. Hertha (10-7-12) have dropped out of Europa contention with a poor run of results that has meant no wins in seven. They at least addressed a four game losing streak with a draw last week, but they look like they will be glad when the season ends now. Sam (mid) should return for Leverkusen, but Kruse, Reinartz and Hegeler(mid) remain out injured. Lustenberger (mid) is out for Hertha.

If you were to choose any side to play in Bundesliga at present it would probably be Hertha, as their season peters out tamely. Leverkusen certainly need to do something after their shambolic recent run, but as is often the case a new coach may just have the desired effect, even if only short term. With only five games left Leverkusen need to win most of them to claim that fourth spot, and they can start here with a three point haul.
