JAPAN V COLOMBIA: PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS

Japan have just a single point from their opening two group games and must win against Colombia to have any hope of qualifying for the second stage. It could have been so much better as they led against Ivory Coast before losing to two quickly conceded goals, and in the 0-0 draw with Greece they enjoyed 70% possession and several gilt edged chances. The fact that Greece played with ten men for more than a half adds to the Japanese frustration, and also highlights their limits.

Colombia have already qualified after winning their opening two games, and both matches have highlighted the slick passing and attacking threat that could trouble the best. Well in control of the latest game with the Ivory Coast at 2-0, it became a nervous finish when 2-1 for the last twenty minutes, but the defence held firm, with 38 year old Yepes a colossus at the back. James Rodriguez netted again and impressed all round along with Juan Cuadrado, while Carlos Sanchez was excellent also in the deeper midfield role. Bacca(str) will again be out injured.

RUN OF PLAY:

Having already qualified Colombia will likely give some squad members playing time here, so an eye on the team sheet is advised before jumping in for a bet. With the likes of Jackson Martinez and Quintero probable starters it shows the strength in depth of this Colombia squad though, and on what we have seen their attacking threat could cause Japan all sorts of problems at the back.
