SWITZERLAND V FRANCE: PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS

Switzerland recovered well in game one, coming from 1-0 down to grab a dramatic last gasp winner against Ecuador, and just about deserved the win for me. They started the game poorly though, and it was only when they went a goal down that they began to perform as Ecuador sat back. The introduction of Mehmedi at half time had an almost instant impact as he converted a corner minutes after the break, and will hope to have done enough to earn a start against France. Improvement throughout will be required against a stronger France side, though this Swiss side can and will improve.

France looked very good indeed, but it is important not to get carried away as Honduras looked extremely poor in their opening game. Always in control with some really exciting play, it should be remembered the score was still 0-0 when Honduras were reduced to ten men, and with it their hopes of clinging on. Benzema grabbed a brace in a man of the match display, and Griezmann impressed greatly along with Pogba as France put down an impressive marker for the tougher games to come.

RUN OF PLAY:

After both teams got off to winning starts the winner of this should go on to top the group, but a draw would be no bad thing for either side.Switzerland will need to defend better against a rampant looking France, especially from set pieces, but I fancy they will be better disciplined for this, and the 4-5-1 formation likely will be more defensive minded. There was no real chance to get a look at the France defence in the opener as Honduras offered nothing going forward, and this game will tell us much more on that score, as I remain to be convinced this France defence has a particularly solid look when against top opposition. Going forward there are no concerns though as France look a side full of excitement. An enthralling game looks assured, but not all that easy to predict.
