USA V GERMANY: PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS the story so far

The USA have managed to get four points with a 2-1 win over Ghana and a 2-2 draw with Portugal, and have performed better than most predicted prior to the tournament. The side is very limited quality wise, but a high work ethic and real team spirit seem to bridge the gap over their more talented opponents. They could easily have maximum points but for conceding a last gasp equaliser to the Portuguese, and know a point here will guarantee progression to the knockout stages. Altidore(str) will again be out for a match given extra spice by the fact that the USA side is coached by Germany legend Jurgen Klinsmann.

Germany followed up an ultra impressive 4-0 win over Portugal with a less taking display against Ghana in a 2-2 draw. Typical of the Germans though when trailing and seemingly struggling at 2-1, Miroslav Klose popped up with a record equalling goal to bring them level. Thomas Muller should be available after a nasty head injury in the Ghana game, and a draw or win would mean Germany top the group.

RUN OF PLAY:

With a draw good enough to get both sides through the conspiracy theorists will be out in force here and the draw odds on the game reflect this. The game is sure to lack the cutting edge of a must win fixture, but the USA must sort out some sloppy passing when in possession or risk getting totally outclassed and overrun by this Germany midfield. A difficult game to predict because of the group scenario, but for me Germany are just far too good for this USA side and I reckon it will show.
